Get involved in Barnet Climate Action Week 2026

Barnet Climate Action Week (BCAW) runs from 10th to 18th October 2026, bringing together residents, community groups, schools, businesses, charities and local organisations to showcase the environmental work happening across the borough. It builds on previous years’ Barnet Climate Action Month, which engaged thousands of residents and supported community led environmental projects.

This year’s theme is nature and biodiversity, celebrating Barnet’s parks, gardens, rivers and wildlife, and the people helping them thrive. That makes it a natural fit for food growing and food security work across our network. Allotments, community gardens and growing schemes do double duty, supporting biodiversity and pollinators while putting fresh food into parcels across the borough.

You can take part in a few ways:

  • Attend events and workshops during the week
  • Join a local volunteering activity
  • Host your own event, activity or workshop, the council will help promote anything submitted through an expression of interest
  • Browse the growing events programme on the council’s website as it’s confirmes

If your project, garden or foodbank is doing something that connects nature and food, a growing session, an open day, a volunteering morning, BCAW is a good moment to put it in front of a wider audience.
